Afenyo-Markin Claims ORAL Has Been Flying Drones Over His Properties
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has reiterated his claim that members of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) have been deploying drones to surveil his properties.
This assertion comes despite an earlier denial from private legal practitioner and ORAL committee member, Martin Kpebu, who dismissed the allegations as “ridiculous” and baseless.
“It is false. The ORAL committee has not sent any drones to spy on the Minority Leader’s properties—it is not true at all.
Looking at the members of the team, you can hazard that the committee will not do something ridiculous like that, so let’s disregard it. We do not own any drones as a committee at all,” Kpebu stated in an interview with Citi News.
However, speaking on Good Evening Ghana, Afenyo-Markin maintained his stance, suggesting that if Kpebu was unaware of such activities, that was one thing, but if he was knowingly denying them, then it was a matter of personal conscience.
He further alleged that ORAL has been engaged in extensive investigations into his affairs, including monitoring his bank accounts, in an effort to uncover whether he possesses any state assets. According to him, these efforts are part of a broader attempt to frustrate his leadership as he continues to scrutinize ministerial nominees.
“These individuals have been conducting deep-sea fishing, checking my bank accounts. But when I accepted this role, I anticipated such challenges. The Minority Leader won’t be allowed to have peace, so one must be resilient, prepared, and determined,” he stated.
