I’ll go back to my nursing job at age 40 – Sista Afia
Ghanaian Afro-pop sensation Sista Afia has revealed her intention to return to her nursing profession at the age of 40 after dedicating years to her music career.
Speaking in a recent interview on Onua TV, the singer shared that while she is currently focused on her music, her background in nursing remains an important part of her life.
Prior to pursuing music full-time, Sista Afia worked as a licensed nurse in the UK. However, she put her nursing career on hold when she moved back to Ghana to follow her passion for music.
“At the moment, I’m fully invested in music, so nursing is on pause. But when I turn 40, I plan to go back to it,” she disclosed.
With a touch of humor, she added, “It’s been so long since I left school; I’ve even forgotten how to spell Chloroquine.”
The artist, known for hit songs like Jeje and Slay Queen, emphasized that while music is her primary focus, she has not ruled out a future return to nursing.
Sista Afia received her nursing education at the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Ghana before relocating to the UK to further her studies.
Since her return to Ghana in 2015, she has risen to prominence as one of the most influential voices in Afro-pop, continuing to make waves in the industry while keeping her nursing aspirations in mind for the future.
